Me, Mu and Krishna did a spot of shopping on Saturday, since we have all these important birthdays this month. Was fun, going out and spending on all the gifts. Got Mu a new pair of Pedro shoes, got Shanthi a saree and jewellery, got Mum a saree ( which we sorta got ticked off for, cuz’ it was black and not an auspicious colour to be giving someone on their birthday ). Mu got Krishna a tie and cufflinks set for his birthday ( which is tomorrow! ) and Krishna got himself a tie. Me? I only got myself 2 pairs of shoes and 2 tops for work. Lol.
There’s this new place in Bugis, called ICON, which is worth looking around. We got most of our stuff there. The tie place, called Roff, was a good find. Their ties are designed in house, so you get to see really nice designs meant for young executive types. And affordable too. A tie goes for $35 and they have tie and cuff link sets for $60. They’re opening a new outlet at Novena Square next January, and have quite a good loyalty programme
All three of us were dead tired on Sat but Mu decided to go out with his friends and start his birthday in a club. Maybe it’s a 19 year old thing, I couldn’t even drag myself out of the sofa once I came home. I’m getting old. Maybe a more accurate statement would be that I’m not that fired up to go clubbing. I’d rather just sit at a bar, have a nice cocktail and listen to a band playing. Or listen to some Buddha bar or Café del mar and talk. Been feeling this since the middle of this year and kept telling myself that it’s just a phase and after a while I probably can’t wait to hit Asoka and dance till the balls of my feet hurt, but somehow it doesn’t seem that way. I still love to do that once in a while, just that that while has not come in a long time. Hmmm. Maybe I am getting old.
