Chinna mama, Sylvia athai and Maitili touched down on Friday at 11.52pm.
She met me all tired and drowsy, it was a surprise that she was not crying and asking to be comforted. She was lost, but she seemed okay about it.
She looked around, and then decided it best to just look at me and try and figure out who this person cooing at her really was.
In the car, she listened intently to athai and I talking, and fell asleep with the constant humming from the car and the familiar chatter.
It was way past her bedtime, but she tried to stay awake as she was whisked away into the lift and carried down the stairs.
At the door, she shrieked. "Thatha!"
I was taken by surprise. Her sleepiness vanished and she was up and about babbling about things that took her fancy around the house. "Bibi" (baby), "Paalu" (milk), "Attatha" (that's the way), "Mano" (mango), "Yam yam" (delicious), "Egg", "Ballon" (balloon), "Poopee" (doll). Her expansive vocabulary amazed me. And as Krishna noted, she has an amazing temperament.
Maybe I might just take a short holiday in Jakarta this December. :)
