Taking stock.
I am on a highly philosophical streak so I’m sending a disclaimer out just so that you are prepared. If you’re not ready, see that tiny red cross on the top right hand corner?

Just click it. :)

Much contemplation over the past week and the weekend ( this is what happens when you take insanely long bus rides everywhere you go and you’re just sick of tuning into your iPod. Argh. But I digress.) gave me some ideas of how I wanted my life to be.

So I decided to come up with a how-to-make-myself-a-better-person list.

1. You have to steer your own ship. No one else should.
2. You are in control of your own emotions. If something makes you mad, you have the power to decide whether you are going to give in and get angry, or smile and walk away from the situation.
3. Don’t give excuses for anything. No one is going to entertain them, be it your boss, friend, dentist, car mechanic or your personal trainer.
4. Always be on your toes. You never know when life will throw a curveball at you.
5. Cherish what you have with you. There is no point mulling over what could have been done or said to make things better.
6. Appreciate the simple things in life. A smile, a hug, a loving home-cooked meal, waffle just when you are hungry ( thanks mu :) ).
7. When you’re bored out of your mind, take a walk, like you used to, and admire the environment you’re in. The sky, people walking their dogs, colourful plants and flowers. Take a deep breath and exhale the boredom ( or anger, or sadness) out of your system.
8. Never put off for tomorrow what you can do today. Be it an important appointment, or just a reminder to tell your loved ones and constants that you appreciate them being there for you.

It’s a non-exhaustive list and I’ll probably keep adding things to remind myself.
Feels good really, stopping to take a note of what’s happening.
On a roll already, can’t wait.

Toodle doo!
