When did you first start to sing?I started singing as a toddler, or at least I tried to haha. My family still has a recording of it on cassette tape somewhere around the house. However, I started to take singing seriously only towards the end of my term of my national service, where a couple of my camp mates and myself decided to form a band. (I know, of all places, the army right?)

Why do you like singing?Well, first and foremost I love music, I have always loved music since I can remember. To me, music is about good songs, well written melodies with emotive lyrics. I enjoy singing because I appreciate how these two are fused together as one and when I sing, I am the instrument to convey the feelings of the songwriters to the audience. I love how I can feel the emotions through song.

When was the first time you performed?Does a class performance when I was in kindergarten count?Do you have any rituals or things you must do each time you perform? I say a short prayer that I don’t forget my lyrics and give a fantastic show which the audience would remember.

Which album would your friends be surprised you own? This is embarrassing. I really love Christmas carols and when I was ten, I saved my pocket money for a really long time just so that I could buy Mariah Carey’s- Merry Christmas and Kenny G’s Miracles. I still listen to it quite often, it puts me in a good mood.

If you were to describe yourself with one song, what would it be, and why?The Show Must Go On by Queen. Apart from it being powerful, dramatic and memorable, this song is a mantra of some sort to me as a singer because of the words which are needless to say, very well written. It speaks for itself : “The show must go on. Inside my heart is breaking. My make-up may be flaking. But my smile still stays on. Whatever happens, I'll leave it all to chance, another heartache, another failed romance… I’ll face it with a grin, I’m never giving in, on with the show

What is your favourite food?Fish Head Curry! What are the things you’ve got in your bag?My Creative Zen Neeon, a water bottle, my organiser and a book to read.Tell us 3 things that we don’t know about you.I really love my dog. I am a fan of Disney cartoons. I can’t rollerblade.

Describe your first date.Fumbling, nervous, distracting, over before I knew it.Describe your most recent date.Still…Fumbling, nervous, distracting, over before I knew it. SIGH.
What is your fondest childhood memory? Remembering how food, candy and toys seemed so very much bigger than they do now.

If you could be an animal, what would you be?I think I would like to be a giraffe. I wouldn’t have any natural enemies, my height allows me to see far away, and I think they are absolutely magnificent to look at.

What are your personal goals in life?I would love very much to have a great, long lasting career in music where people enjoy and appreciate my work. In the future, I hope to raise a happy, well adjusted family by being a good husband and father.

What makes you nervous? Why?Performing in front of an audience, because so many things can go wrong!!

If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 things you would bring with you?A crate of flares so people would find me! A book to spend the time waiting for people to save me, and a basket full of food to eat.

Who helped you the most in the course of this competition? My band, my friends, and my family who have been really supportive.. you know who you are! Thanks for all the faith.
Tell us why you deserve to be the next Singapore Idol.I have a unique voice, or so I’ve been told! I don’t think I deserve to be the next idol. But I sure as hell will try my best and I hope for the support of all the viewers
